Best Tools for Dematting and Clippers

Hi everyone! 

I am inching toward doing full grooming for my pup. However, We brush him almost every day or every other day, but he still matts like crazy! What do you all use to get matts out? We have a comb and slicker brush, but I have seen a "dematting" tool that looks kind of like a brush. Does anyone use this? Perhaps we need to get a detangler conditioner/spray...any suggestions?

Okay, good to know! Angus has very soft hair, but it does seem to get matted fairly easily - not sure if this is a forever thing or more related to his coat change, but we've seen an increase in matting recently. It is likely we'll keep his coat shorter for the time being until we can figure out the matting issue. Perhaps I'll just get an additional rake and brush to make sure that we're getting all the way down. Not sure if Angus has an "undercoat" - how can you tell?
