I've noticed that groomers like to shave the bridge of the girls noses. I think it looks funny, and looks much better when that hair starts to grow back. But I don't want it to be so long that it gets in their eyes. Shortish, but not too short. Is there a term for that? I'm not sure how to articulate what I'm looking for. How long is that area supposed to be?

You could just tell them to leave the nose are alone and scissor trim it yourself.  Or provide some really good photo references :p

I've actually been attempting to trim Willow's face. I have this plan that she's going to be home groomed. It's very comical. She thinks I'm going to poke her eye out with the scissors, so she wiggles and then I'm afraid I'm going to poke her eye out with the scissors, so I hesitate. Eventually we get it done, but it's not graceful.

I just treat, snip, treat, snip....it's slow but I eventually get it done.  It's not perfect but she is so shaggy it hardly matters.  I use small curved blunt nosed scissors and hold them horizontally so little chance of an eye poke.

Also - do you do desensitization training for grooming?  Every few days I do nothing but approach Riley's face with some sort of grooming tool and treat when she doesn't flinch.  It seems to help a bit.  I've been slacking lately and it shows, she's becoming more difficult. I really need to get back on the grooming training.
