My doodle looks like a mini retriever and sheds alot. I have purchased just about every kind of brush and comb there is out there. I find the only brush that takes out her loose hair is the furminator, it's fantastic. My question is, can you use the furminator  as your only brush or do you think it's too "aggressive" to be used all the time?

I believe it is not supposed to be used daily, if I remember the package said maybe twice a week.  We found this one for Meg that she does not mind and it takes out a lot of that undercoat (I can use it a couple times a day) and she stands willingly for it.  http://www.petsmart.com/gsi/webstore/WFS/PETNA-PETUS-Site/en_US/-/U...

I take it with me to my daughter's house and use it two to three times a day so she always invites us back :-)

I use a furminator on my cat.  It's really the only thing that does a good job of removing her hair. She loves it and I love it too. I don't use it every day but I use it regularly. Sometimes I don't get much hair so I don't think it pulls hair out that isn't ready to come out. The Furminator website says to use it once or twice a week for 10-20 minutes but to use it more during heavy shedding.  So I guess if your doodle sheds heavily most of the time you could use it more often.
