Can someone help me pick a Chris Christianson brush for Bonne Bouche?

We need to purchase a high quality brush for Bonne Bouche. We have had a number of cheapies and some wire pin brushes that really upset him. Can you help recommend which brush I should get? I am open to non-CC brushes, but we were pretty sure that we needed a wooden pin brush. He hates being brushed, which isn't really that bad because somehow he rarely tangles, aside from his long tail, which we usually have no problem using a wire comb on.

Here is BB at his shortest. We shave him every 6 weeks or so from spring through fall, because we keep him quite active swimming and hiking through the woods, and it just makes sense for us. Using 4fc on the Andes 2speed clipper. This is right after his winter clip this spring.

This is the before. This is the longest he had ever gotten. I don't even recognize him! We will probably let it grow this long over the winter again.

His coat is very soft, and he does not shed. When he is freshly shaved we call him "crushed velvet". When he has not been trimmed in a while, the hair along his spine is sprinkled with longer courser hair. I hope that helps... Any advice is much appreciated.

If you keep him mostly short and he doesn't mat much, it really may not matter too much about getting an expensive brush.  We use LesPouchs slicker but it is wire so probably wouldn't be a good match for your guy.  What about a human hair brush?

I bought a Chris Christensen wooden pin brush because I read that the dogs like being brushed with one. It has rounded wooden pins and I am thinking it would feel good roiling over their skin. I can't tell you if this is true or not because I will not have Lily Grace home with me until November 3rd. I plan on using this until her hair becomes long enough to need the slicker brushes. Good luck. BB has a beautiful coat.
