choice of clippers

I am wondering if anyone can suggest a good brand of clippers that I can use on both McDuff, my australian doodle and Salty, my himalayan cat. McDuff is only 14 weeks old, do I'm not ready to clip him yet, but poor Salty is covered with mats. I usually have the vet clean him up, but I think I'm ready to give it a try.
