I took my pup to a groomer for a bath and they shaved the top of his nose up thru between his eyes.

You can now see black pigment from the poodle skin underneath.

I had him in training using a "Gentle Leader" that had a nose piece and now I cannot

use it. He is throwing tantrums and I must assume its from the loss of hair

protection. Or its sensitive due to the shearing.

I understand the hair around their eyes needs cut so their hair won't poke them

in the eye-but have you ever had them shave the top of thier nose with clippers

and take all the hair off? Is this standard procedure or just laziness on the groomers

side?

Linda I love your repeat after me idea. I was so paranoid the first time I took Quincy to the groomers I was very emphatic that I wanted him to look the same only shorter, no poodle feet and no shaved anything. I even called after I got back home to make sure they understood my instructions, they probably thought I was a little nuts but it worked.

Thank you all for your input-I now realize it is a common issue shared by many and feel

better knowing that it wasn't just me that did not like the poodle snout shave ( as one response called it). I will

be pretty vocal with the groomer in the future and repeat it (as a former teacher suggested) and keep telling

myself that it will grow back!!
