So every satuwe have a grooming session where we devote some of our time to olivers mop of hair. Today it was a short amount of time, just the usual brushing, and we clipped his toenails. That was the hard part. we have to give him these little pills called "quiet moment stress reliever" that we got from petco. There supposed to help him not freak out when we clip his toenails, or groom him in general. Does anyone have any input?

Are you using clippers on his nails? Some people have better success using a dremel. You could give that a try.
Also, if you are using clippers, between sessions, you can desensitize him to them by clipping wooden matches around him. It has a similar sound and you can slowly work the matches toward him and his feet. Also try to associate the clippers with something pleasant. Touch, but not clip, his paws/claws with them and treat and lay the clippers down and put a treat on it for him. I think it is going to take some work between Saturday session, maybe a few minutes each day. The trick is to ease him into trusting and out of the fear of the clippers. During the training sessions don't push him beyond his comfort zone. Good luck!
Thanks! i haven't been on for a while but we will definitely try that next time!
