I have been scissor cutting Samantha since February. I loved the look but I kept giving her ridges with the scissors as well as a couple of bald spots. Two months ago I purchased Anis Clippers - the 14 piece set that cost me only $40.00. I had nightmares about what I would do to her coat so I never even opend the package until this week. I watched the video numerous times.
We were meeting Dana & Mac this morning for a walk through a craft fair at the park. Mac was groomed Wednesday which gave me the push to plug in the clippers. Put a plastic tablecloth and Samantha up on the patio table and prayed to the DGGs (Doodle Grooming G-ds) while I groomed her. I worked from her neck dog, haven't done her legs or her face yet but I am very happy with the results.
Just wanted to share that we CAN do it! Now I will be looking for a good set of clippers now that I am comfortable doing it myself.
Samantha - you look stunning. My mom has been scissor cutting me too. She bought clippers but was never comfortable using them until this past time. Isn't Mac one of the most handsome doodles you have ever met. Tell mom she did a great job.
He certainly is!! After the Craft Show we picked up sandwiches and brought them back to our home and sat outside and ate. It is such a simple pleasure to watch them play together. If one ignored the other for too long, the old Doodle swat came out until they started to run again. ana & I just sat back and giggled.
What a wonderful lunch!
I have put a bid on the Andis 2230 on ebay. I have the highest bid so far at $71.00; I put my highest bid at $75.00. I hope I get them at that price. That would be such a score!
You did a fabulous job Adrianne! Really nice =) In fact I would even leave her legs as is. Rosco has similar legs ... thinner fur and if I trim them they don't look doodley anymore. So I typically take very little off even if the body is shorter.
Thanks! I did lots of changting to the DGGs! I was so nervous.
I am not cutting her legs, they just need a little nip and tuck - escpecially her front elbows.
