Wow!! This stuff really works. Found several mats on Max's chin and they were close to the skin. I applied the detangler per instructions and it was fairly easy to brush them out and now his chin hairs are so silky and shiny. This stuff is amazing.
Max hates being brushed so I haven't brushed him alot but now that i found the chin mats I need to really commit to daily brushings.
I used the Cowboy Magic Detangler today and it really helped. It still took me about 3 hours to de-mat and brush Cooper because I've been lazy lately, but when I'd get to a matted area, and try to brush/comb it out...as soon as I'd get stuck, I'd put a little CMD on my hands and rub through the area. It was so much easier to work out the mat that way...still needed work, but much easier. Now his coat is nice and shiny, too!
I just met a lady who lives on a ranch with horses. She said she also loves Show Sheen (don't know if this is the spelling of it). She said she sprays her dogs and horses with it before a ride and it really helps the needle grass and other stuff not stick to their fur as well as getting out mats and tangles. She has a Border Collie and an Australian Shepherd not doodles but..... I really like spray-in products so I am going to try this one.
Just got the Cowboy Magic Detangler Concentrate today at a local feed store and LOVE it! Finally got matts out of her legs that I have been gently cutting out and have been very unhappy to have to do so. The Cowboy Magic really works. I have tried many types of detanglers and none have worked.
Also went to their website where they have a grooming instruction book on line. It isn't extremely detailed but worth a look.
