Wow!! This stuff really works. Found several mats on Max's chin and they were close to the skin. I applied the detangler per instructions and it was fairly easy to brush them out and now his chin hairs are so silky and shiny. This stuff is amazing.
Max hates being brushed so I haven't brushed him alot but now that i found the chin mats I need to really commit to daily brushings.
Cowboy Magic can be found at the feed type stores - it is actually for horses. It works great. We have the shampoo too. We use horse mane and tail detangler - spray a lot and brush!

I cannot find the Cowboy Magic Detangler in a spray bottle, I only found it in a tube. I'd prefer a spray. Where did you find the spray?
The Cowboy Magic didn't come in a spray so I bought another brand in the spray and I LOVE IT. It is The Original Mane 'n Tail Detangler equine strength. I was advised to spray it liberally, wait a little and brush or comb. It works and Ned stays mat-free for days and days. It makes his fur look a little like dreads and scruffy which I love. It also has NO odor. Good and bad - sometimes I wish he smelled "purty" but....
I found it at a local feed store but also Googled it and found it online if you can't find locally. I also bought the shampoo with rosewater andhis coat is so soft and shiny. Love both products and they are not expensive. Also a good thing.
I have a basket with a handle that has the mane and tail detangler, scissors, comb, rake, pinhead brush AND slicker brush. I keep it handy and even carry it from one place to another. IF Ned is bugging someone, we just go for the basket - he takes off. I am sorry that he hates to be brushed but at least there is one perk!!
