Hi Guys!

We live about 50 miles west of Chicago ( St. Charles, IL) and we have a almost 8 month old F1B Male. After grooming him at home myself I decided to give a highly rated groomers by me a try. It was a complete disaster. I literally didn't recognize my dog when I picked him up. I gave them strict instructions on how I wanted him cut and he came out looking like a poodle. My in laws have his brother and they had a similar experience. I am hoping someone that lives close by can recommend someone that knows how to cut doodles. I don't know why they think he was suppose to look like a poodle and not follow my directions at all. Thanks for any input.

Sorry, I can't help with the groomer recommendations. But, if you don't mind answering, why did you decide on a professional groomer after doing it yourself? I've been grooming my 7 month old, sometimes think about getting it professionally done to see if it would be smoother or better. I can't believe how fast Loki's hair grows! I'm beginning to think I don't really have to worry about mistakes, because they're erased in a few weeks anyway.
So I'm always afraid to go too short so I feel like I am grooming him every 2 weeks. We also had a grooming accident at home while trying to get rid of a mat and he ended up with 3 stitches. I felt like his face/neck area got a little out of control and I was afraid to do anything and I took him in hoping someone would help me just trim it to a point that I knew what to do next. Clearly I was wrong to trust someone. I really hope it grows back and it looks like I'll be back to grooming him myself. I invested in a professional shaver and grooming not so I might as well watch more you tube videos
There's a groomer in our area who does mobile grooming. I've thought about calling her, seeing if she would come to my house, and give me instructions/ tips for grooming him myself. Maybe there's someone like that in your community. Loki has wavy/ fleecy hair and I feel like nothing gets cut off with the 10 blade + E comb, so I Use the A or 0 comb, or the 3 3/4 blade.

Poor puppy and poor you! I hope you're both ok now.
