I have been reading Doodle Grooming about wool, fleece and hair types but can't find any photos of the different coat types. Would someone(s) post pics of their dood and comment on type of coat, please?
Thanks. I think Luca is changing again. We'll see where he ends up since he'll be 2 in March. I never would have thought from his puppy coat he'd be wool. His coat is softer than Calla's. Sometimes that's how I tell them part in the dark.
well maybe he is a fleece that needs brushed then : ) The pup pictured about should be a fleece as an adult. This is exactly what Sweetie looked like as a baby. Her coat as an adult stays straight if I keep it brushed but when she gets wet she will curl. Her coat is very light weight and moves in the wind. I keep her coat long.
I'm glad to hear that at least when I thought from his puppy coat he'd be fleece I was on the right track. He always needs to be brushed unfortunately. His coat does move with the wind when it's long but I've kept it at about 2 inches cause he mats a lot. I keep hoping we're almost done! We'll see. Thanks for your feedback.
I try to get to him weekly but don't always. The mats are definitely less now than months ago but still occur. He's loosing this very, very fine fur. Here's a freshly brushed tail, which has changed a lot lately, and back. Sorry the back picture is fuzzy, still working on using the dSLR.
I have always thought that Ned was fleece but he is curly. He is very soft. Under his neck he is quite curly but on his tummy, he is pretty much straight. His rest of his coat is very spirally. What are your opinions?
