I have been reading Doodle Grooming about wool, fleece and hair types but can't find any photos of the different coat types. Would someone(s) post pics of their dood and comment on type of coat, please?
It is difficult to tell the difference even if you have had your doodle for almost two years and been a dk member for almost that long! I think coat is probably the most difficult thing to describe.
Why am I just now seeing this discussion? I have really had no idea what Peri's coat is. She doesn't shed except literally one hair every now and then. She gets curlier when I don't brush her for a while:
if he is still young you may find that the hair on his back might start to migrate to other parts of his body until his entire body is the same as his back. My very first doodle did this~ and only her eyebrows, the whispers on the back of her legs stayed soft. She ended up looking like groucho marks.
Simon's hair is spiral fleece. When I first groom him, he looks like a cloud - but by the next day, his hair is in tiny spirals. I love the way it feels and looks. :-)
Connor's coat is fleece, but soft curls. His hair is not as dense as Simon's. Connor is an F1 goldendoodle. Simon is a multigen Australian Labradoodle. :-)
I finally saw this post. (Don't know where I've been) I wanted to get an expert opinion on what type of coat Murphy has. It is VERY soft and curls if wet. What is the best kind of brush for him? Thanks so much.
