We usually bath Gracie Doodle at home in the patio but when we take her to the beach we park two blocks up by the Dog Beach Dog Wash and then walk to the beach. Afterward we walk back, bathe her there and take a clean Doodle home. She loves to go there because everyone knows her and we run into people we know all the time. Plus it is a boutique so there are toys, leashes, collars and other fun stuff to buy! And...Gracie gets a "lamb lung" as a treat afterward!
We have one at our Daycare, and you can either do it yourself or have them do it for you. Murph is a "handful" at bath time, so I've been taking the "easy way out" and having them do it. One of these times I'll give it a try myself. It is a great idea.
My daughter really likes the one near her house for her lab. We try to save the bathing for the groomer - I think she rinses much much better than we do. But I think a self-service bathing place would be perfect for those times we must bathe the dogs.
We opened a self service dog wash too if you are ever in the area and want to visit?
This is our website: http://www.bowwowbathhouse.ca/
We have cool tubs, shampoos, spritzes, and things like that. Plus Huff would love to see Ned and Clancy!:)
To make the rinsing easier, mix your shampoo at least 1/2 and 1/2 with water. It will still get your baby clean, but be sooooo much easier and quicker to rinse thoroughly. :-)
Our's is located at the car wash. It's a coin-op, works just the same as the car wash with the spray wand where you dial it to what you want: shampoo, conditioner, flea repellent, deoderizer etc. It also has a blower. And a vending machine that has dog treats and snacks. Very convenient - for five bucks no mess at home!
Not at all. Very nice stainless steel tubs with ramps and rubber mats. They keep the temperature nice and warm and even have music playing. It is very quick and painless, particularly after a trip to the muddy dog park.
