Hello, semi-new owner here.

Is it normal for the groomer to shave armpits of the dog (front and back)?  She said that is something that needs to be done along with the tummy because that is where the dog mats the worse?  Not sure if i should trust her on this or not.

Thanks for your advice!

My groomer asked me if I wanted them shaved and I've been having it done every time he goes in to be groomed.  I never notice it anyway..and if it keeps the tangles away even better..it never bothers me any.

I shave mine so why not!  lol

See, Lari and I do.  Just because Madonna doesn't is not a good enough reason not to keep those pits too.  What you have to be careful of though is not sharing your deodorant with the doodle.
It is true that those are the areas that do get matted and also little tiny knots. Depending on the doodles hair type they shave or trim close those areas. Up to you.
My understanding is that this is very normal, unless of course, you are Madonna.  For doodles, yes, they do.

LOL

We may have to try this with Myla, she always says she got everything brushed out but the armoits and I can work on that at home...NOT! She goes crazy on me so maybe we will shave the pits!
