We brought Molly in for her monthly grooming (I have not attempted it yet because I am so afraid I will hurt her) with a bit of a twist. Molly's puppy coat kept getting longer and thicker that brushing her was becoming more of a chore for both me and her. I asked Julie to cut her down to 1" on the body and 1 1/4" on the legs and head, leaving the tail as is. I LOVE her new doo. Her coat is so soft, it feels like velour, and instead of long wild hair it is very wavy and close to her body. I read somewhere here about trimming down this short and I just wanted to thank whoever posted it. I think this will help with the transition of her adult coat coming in and will keep her cool during the summer months.
Thanks Pam. Molly is always expecting her kibble, but no. My DH had the camera while I put her in a sit stay position, she was waiting for her release.
Great cut! She looks super. I came home from the East Coast to find my ALD with about the same cut. He looks cute, but the idea of cording him has been moved back. My DH just couldn't resist trimming him up.
I guess it is best described as dreadlocks for dogs. The ALDs apparently have a good coat to be corded. Pulis and standard poodles are two breeds that are frequently corded.
Was Willow's hair the same? It really was a job to brush it out constantly. Do they look the same? I love that we can compare our girls together. Have you had any luck with any other litter mates?
