Chapter SIX--Training Techniques:

In clicker training, a cue (or command) is not introduced from the beginning in favor of the dog creatively figuring out the behavior that it takes to get the reward. For this reason it is important to know various techniques for getting the dog to offer the behavior spontaneously and voluntarily--this strengthens the behavior. This chapter outlines 7 techniques used to get a dog to offer a behavior:

-- Modeling
-- Luring/helping
-- Observational learning
-- Setting the environment
-- Capturing
-- Shaping
-- Targeting

Which ones are NOT recommended by Canis Clickertraining, which ones are considered ideal...and WHY?
