Life has been less then smooth. My loving, generous partners: Looeze ( 12+ year old Portie, the love my life... prompting me to retire the color: Black ) and Tazmin ( 23+ year Enlightened being in a cat's body ), both departed in a rain soaked January, this year. In june, I embraced Tessa ( F1B Mediun Apricot GD ), now 5 months old and 30 pounds: a joy, a gentle being with a generous loving spirit. Our devoted little family of two realizes we need the wise consciousness of a female, short hair feline, proprtioned appropriately to bond and engage with Tess at this age, at this time... We welcome this new addition into our family, yearning to be three. The time is now, while Tessa is still a pup. We welcome and will take to heart any and all advice, support and guidence in our quest. Thank you all.

What an exciting time! What a wonderful time at the shelter!! I would love to have seen that kitten curling up with Tessa! When I was looking for Tara I sent out a request to the heavens to give me a REALLY big sign that a certain dog was THE dog that was to be my companion! I was so afraid I would miss her!! Within a week I received my answer when I saw Tara on line and new without a doubt that she was the one due to a huge and unmistakeable sign (long story)!  So perhaps request guidance and a sign and follow your intuition!  And remember you don't get the animal you want you get the animal you need! :)

Just wondering if you have found your new friend yet? I honestly thought the little one that matched Tessa and curled up with her might be the ONE! But only you two will know for sure!! And I so admire you for taking the time to allow things to come together.

It is wonderful that the rescue foundation has invited Tessa back to help the kittens!! It says a lot about her! :)

Maybe you should let let Tessa choose her kitty!!  Have someone else take Tessa in with the kitties and she can decide without you! LOL! She is probably not stressed about deciding at all!  :)

Don't despair!! Your little one is out there somewhere waiting for YOU!!

Well, it this point I am convinced that Tess was a cat in her former life!! She is amazing! When Amber and I (and DH) found each other it went like this:

DH and I went to our local mall to buy window coverings. In the mall was a pet store where the local shelter brought cats to display for adoption. We stopped at the pet store on the way to the window covering store. DH saw an orange cat (we have a soft spot for orange cats) across the room and we went over to see her. She was curled in a ball in the corner of her glass cage with a sign that read "shy at first but warms up to you". When she saw DH she made a beeline for him and sat as close as she could and stared into his eyes. OMD!  When DH and I looked into those feline eyes we both knew that this was a familiar soul. We KNEW her and we were so shocked. We had no intention of adding a family member but there was no way we could leave her. She was one of us!  And once we went through the adoption procedure she came home with us where she belonged.  At the time we had a 14 year old dog and a 17 year old cat who both lived only one year beyond Amber's arrival. Amber was such a comfort to us when we lost both of them on the same day.  So I'm just saying sometimes you find your family member where and when you least expect! :)
