Heartworm Preventative
With the stories i am hearing lately about Heartguard and other meds,
I felt a need to address HW preventative and dogs that can be hyper sensitive to HW preventative
in particular Ivermectin.
This is not just herding breeds but any breed can have the problem,,
this is what i now posted on my site
IMPORTANT
We HIGHLY recommend Interceptor Heartworm Preventive for all our dogs!!!,
Some Dogs are more sensitive then other breeds,
Herding dogs Can be sensitive to Ivermectin,
as well as other prescribed Meds!!!
It is VERY important to NOT give Heartguard!! .
Please Be Aware of this & make your Vet aware that you know it as well
There is really no need for "Testing" to see if they are with the Aussiedoodles,
as it is pretty much general Knowledge that the herding dog breeds are likely to
have issues with Ivermectin !!
Vets should already be aware of it!!
