I'm actually pretty excited.  The first trainer is coming on Wednesday for a consultation/evaluation on Tori.  She sent me a four page questionnaire to fill out about Tori from her eating habits right down to her behavior.  I thought this was great since NO ONE has ever asked such questions before a training session....In my conversation with her on the phone to set up the appointment, she said she does NOT have a dog of her own... What does everyone think about that.... I really didn't give it much thought until I mentioned it to my friend, and she thought that was odd.... after all, I feel a teacher can be a great teacher even if one does not have kids of their own, a doctor can determine a sickness even if he/she has never HAD the sickness before... right?  I'd like to know what experiences anyone has had with trainers.  I do still have to get in touch with 2 others, so I really don't have to stick with the first one that comes.  I always feel bad telling people "Thanks, but I will be going with someone else"..... but after all it's MY dog and MY dollar - right????

Ha, Ned got a hamburger from the table last night!! He has never been successful stealing food (Clancy has though). We are camping in the RV and I noticed that we weren't hooked up correctly, so my DH set his burger down to check it out, and..... Ned ate it!
Shelly, just check out that this lady didn't just 'steal' the form idea from the experienced trainer...
BTW, Our pre- forms are called SST forms and they are pages long also! I am the special ed teacher, so I expect a long IEP written for Tori with good performance outcomes. teehee.
Teehee! Boy, Nancy - we are definitely on the same wave length today... after seeing the form.. that DID pop into my head too! UGH! This search is going to be harder than I thought! I'll just tell her I have a couple more consultations before I make a decision... I'll have to be strong and keep my heart out if it!.... just tonight my DH said... I'm telling you put that bark collar on her and she'll be able to be controlled.... but, I asked him, what about the herding of the nephew and her insistence of no visitors walking around the house ~ she did it again when my son's friend tried to leave tonight... Thank goodness this kid is such a good sport! Now I'M stresing... maybe I need a behaviorist... maybe even a therapist - LOL
Don't you wish you could figure out what was going on in their heads? If only we knew, we could address it - spoken like a true teacher! Or a therapist! I know my DH is a bit concerned about her Whippets and the baby. You can not keep them out of anywhere and they chase little running furry things. Babies are not furry, but toddlers do run. Her male has chased some little children and nipped them.
Oh boy do I ! Maybe that's part of my 'problem' with needing this solved now.... as a teacher, I need to be able to 'fix' behavior issues and this Tori-girl gives me a run for my money (which I'm running out of quickly since summer vacation is nearing the end - waaaa...LOL)
