Will only go potty for me, if I am home.....
Here is whats going on. I am having minor surgery in Nov. I will be laid up for about 4 days. Jordan my angle of a Doodle, will only go potty for me if I am home.She will go out for Dh if I am sleeping.
She is so ridiculous,We've been working on her going out with DH.She will go and do her potty dance for me.Dh will try to get her to leave me alone and call her to the door.She will go and lay on her dog bed.We tried treats, the ball which is her fav thing in the world. Today, I had her "locked" upstairs with DH, she would not leave the door.She will not leave the porch,If she can see me. Jordan is also pad trained.(which is something I'll never do again) She will "hold" till he is not around and use her pads insted of going out side. She normally only uses the pads at night and only in an ER situation. Not often at all. I am the primary "caretaker" and trainer of Jordan. We have about a month, to get her to potty trained to DH.
Any ideas????
She normally listens very well to DH,it is only this potty issue and she also will not play fetch with him if I am not out there as well.... She goes potty for our staff,(in home business)
and plays fetch as well.Only DH.
BTW if this writen all wonky its because I am on pain pills, and I am sorry. :)

No wonkiness! No worries. Maybe he could try being the primary caregiver for the next month. I don't know how hard that will be or his schedule, try for all the time he is home. Even if he was the PCG all the time he is home. But that would get her used to the idea so that once you are gone, she will have the idea. How old is Jordan? Maybe in the next month, it would be time to get rid of the potty pads too. If that's not possible, then have her use the pads until you're back in the game.
Another suggestion is for DH to take long walks with her in the evenings. Make him the "fun one" also, that way she will rely on him as well as you. Maybe others will have more ideas. -

Lynne's advise sounds solid to me. Any chance you could leave for a few days now? Take a weekend at a friend or relatives house. Leave DH with her to be her only caregiver. Have him make it extra fun and enjoyable for her.

Thank you to you both, she goes out for him, when I am not here. It is only when I am home she wont go. He has been PCG for that last couple of days. She went pee for him last night,but used the pad for poo sometime in the night. I am planing on shutting the door to our bedroom tonight.She will be in with us.Keeping her away from her pads. Ill keep you all posted.
