Hi Everyone, I thought it would be interesting to show the various coat changes in our F1 Doodles. State the type of Doodle, the age and add the pics. I think it would be fun so see all the differences.
Wow, it's amazing how much redder she is getting unless it was just the lighting on the 12 week old picture. I know some I have of Sadie make her look almost white but others she looks quite apricot. In person, she is apricot on her back and ears and creamy in other places. If you pull up the apricot hair it is white underneath, so not sure what color she will end up being. Her mother is a black lab and father an apricot poodle.
As you may be able to tell from these pics, Lilo (F1 goldendoodle, her Mom is a red golden retriever, Dad is an apricot standard poodle) has gone from short and silky, to darker silky to short and shaggy to lighter colored long and shaggy, to now dense curly hair that needs to be cut frequently to prevent her from overheating and looking like a sheep ...
I can't believe how much she changed! The poodle really comes out in the last pic! I wouldn't have guessed they were the same dog if I didn't already know! wow!
I never thought she'd end up so curly! My other doodle was curly when we got him as a puppy, and his coat has never changed, except now he has some gray hairs here and there ;) They both need professional haircuts every 8-10 weeks. Lilo takes 5-6 hours to groom, Rocky 3-4 hours... I spend way more money on their haircuts than on my own!!! But at least they don't shed at all other than all the grass and mud and bugs they bring in ;)
Eva, her little whispy white hairs are already starting to lay down but I loved the 'white aura' she seemed to have.. ha ha... those pics of Lilo as a fluffy puppy are just adoreable!!
Here's Nala's slight transformation. She didn't change too much, but when she was little we got a lot of, "Is that a long-haired lab?" As if there was such a thing...haha (except the flat-coat labrador retriever, which is sorta similar).
She looked like a fluffy lab pup at first, then started getting a beard and long bangs which started turning brown too. Her one year photo is the last of the bangs and such. I started trimming up her head and face after that so she would appear younger and more like a labradoodle than a mutt, as people would call her often! : (
Now she has wavy hair down her back and on her chest, smooth hair on the sides. My little Lovedoodle!
