Pet Insurance

Hello Doodle Lovers...

I have a 3 month old F1 Goldendoodle. I am starting to look into pet insurance. I have a couple questions.

1. Is this a smart move? Pros & Cons.

2. Are there any companies I should avoid?

3. Do all vets take health insurance?

I have done some online research, but thought it best to ask those of you who may have it and use it for your thoughts.

After having a Beagle who had many health issues, we decided to get insurance this time around. We researched several plans and decided on PetPlan. I believe they have 3 different plans to choose from and we decided on the "silver" plan, which was their middle of the road option. They send out news letters every quarter or so. They have good reviews.  Our Beagle required so much medical attention for a variety of issues, and we felt like we had paid for college tuition through the process.  She had a wonderful quality of life and lived a good long time.  She had chronic diseases and required monitoring, and several treatments.  We decided pet insurance was a must. We started it quickly into getting our Doodles, as they do not cover pre-existing conditions.
