What is your GD's coat like

How do you find your goldendoodles fur? Does he/she mat? Shed? When did he/she lose puppy coat. What do you do for maintenance/grooming? I would like to know what I am in for with Abby

Our Abby doesn't mat much at all, maybe a few small ones on the inside of her hind legs. She doesn't shed either, but she has yet to lose her puppy coat - I think she may be starting now. Her coat keeps changing. I brush her out with my CC brush - and every once in a while I take the slicker brush to her, too. Then I follow up with a comb out. She gets a bath about once evey 2 weeks, and her coat is sooo soft. I have, so far done the grooming on her face and head, but she needs more for summer I think. I was hoping to keep her longer but she pants all the time. A friend was a groomer, and tho she has never done a doodle, she knows the basics so we will figure it out. I definitely have lots of pictures to show her here in this site.

Matlow's coat is very soft, too. I am struggling with mats on his tail from when I got him and his ears seem to mat some,but I think that is because of all the playing he does with my Dalmatian, Lola. They seem to go after each others ears! I try to brush a little easch night during TV time. He is going to the groomer on Friday, so hopefully she will be able to help with the mats in the tail without shaving it......that would be terrible! He has such a pretty long tail!
