Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Belinda and I have been talking for a few months about trying to organize a volunteer network for doodles in need within Virginia. Basically, we are looking for people who have a love for the breed, time, energy and physical space to take a homeless doodle awaiting either adoption or transport to a breed rescue into their home or be able to help in other areas.
Some of these dogs needing temporary foster care may...
*have lived outdoors their entire lives and need assistance adjusting to indoor life
*not be housebroken
*have never had any type of obedience training and need to learn basic manners
*be shy or fearful because of negative past experience
*not have experience with small children or other small animals
*not have any issues, just find themselves needing to be re-homed through no fault of their own
As a foster parent you will need...
*abundant patience
*infinite love
*time to spend for socialization
*an enclosed space to run and play (not electric fencing)
*a commitment to providing a positive, loving temporary home
*a desire to make a difference
Volunteer assistance is needed for:
*Fostering, short-term
*Transport, locally/regionally
*Contribution of items needed for fosters
*Financial contributions for medical care or spay/neuter
*Other ways you’d like to help
If you are able to volunteer to help Virginia doodles in need, please contact either Belinda Stevens or Deborah Moore through Greater Richmond Area Doodles (GRAD). Just go to either profile page and use the Send a Message link on the left.
Many, many thanks.
