For the past 4 months every time I clean Rosey's ears I get NOTHING...This past weekend I hadn't tried to clean her ears in at least 4 weeks. Not that I am complaining but I would think I should be seeing something, even if just a little dirt. One reason I am concerned as she continues to have ongoing itch issues around her ears and face and she always seems to be irritated by her ears. Would there be any medical reason she has ears that are so clean??

Yetti has super clean ears - I don't even bother cleaning them anymore, except after a bath. I am convinced this is because I do not pluck her ears. The one time she had filthy ears, it was right after she went to the groomers, and they had plucked all the hair out of her ears. I suppose there might be some medical reasons, for certain dogs, to do this, but in general I feel like the hair is probably there for a reason - to keep the dirt and debris out!!
Yetti also spends about 5-10 minutes every morning rubbing her face/ears with her paws. It's actually really cute. At first I was worried, but this is a regular thing she does only in the mornings, and I think it's to get the sleep out of her eyes. How often does Rosey scratch?
If you never pluck Rosey's ears, I'll bet that's he reason they are really clean.
