For the past 2 days my puppy has been getting these greenish/ yellow eye boogers in one of his eyes. He never rubs it or acts like anything is wrong, so I am wondering if I should take him to the vet or should I just try something at home. The eye boogers are never inside of his eye, they are always on his fur around the eye or in the corners. Has anyone had this with their doodles before?

Our pup, Angus, has been getting this occasionally. When we did take him to the vet (he was rubbing his eye and it was "leakier" than the other eye), she said he had an eye infection and gave us some drops. It still happens occasionally and we will wipe his eye boogies off and sometimes just put a drop in there, which helps. We have also begun giving our pup allergy pills when he gets sneezy or more eye boogies since we're pretty sure he has seasonal allergies. He and I seem to suffer from the same issues lol If it continues, you might consider talking with the vet - they can give you drops, if needed...

I would have the vet take a look. A greenish yellow discharge can be a sign of an infection. I would not "try something at home", that can make things worse. If there's an infection present, he needs antibiotics from the vet. And I guarantee you that he is rubbing the eye, you just haven't seen him doing it. :)

Okay, thank you both! I will contact the vet.
When Rip had an infection we got the ointment and I did it very calmly and with treats - it was no sweat. I think it took one week and he was clear. Also it's good to always remove their morning/daily eye goobers on a daily basis if you aren't already.
My son has taken this on as his job part of grooming, and then he lets Rippley lick them off his hands (eww I know, but, instant treat!) :-)
