Kennel Cough

Has anyone had any experience with kennel cough in their puppy? Just had my 10week old pup diagnosed today with it...he is on an antibiotic. I thought he had something "stuck" in his throat. We have had him two weeks today...this is the first time we have ever experienced this in the 30 years we've been married with one of our dogs. Our other two dogs have now been exposed to this. POOR MICKEY and of course, poor YOU!!! I am sooo glad Samantha didn't get mange. I am with you on the scatching, too. Cimmy was scratching up a storm with in a few weeks of bringing her home. Shortly, after that I started noticing bumps all over her skin. Many around her neck where her collar is. All over each elbow and in various other spots. I took her to the vet and saw a partner of ours. She diagnosed Cimmy with something like Puppy Paradermatitis (?) She put her on antibiotics and I gave her the medicatied baths, which I love the smell of the shampoo!, and everything cleared up. With in a week of finishing the antibiotics the bumps started coming back. When in for her visit that was supposed to be the 16 wk. check, our vet did a skin scrap and I was glad to hear there were no parasites, ringworm or mange. She really does just have sensitive skin for a puppy. So now the antibiotics are for that and the kennel cough. She was outside just a little while ago leaping and bounding and playing fetch in the house. My baby is definately almost back!
