Zoey is 2 years old 45 lb GD.  At 14 months she had left leg PTLO surgery.  We followed the protocol of crating, 6-12 weeks, short leash walks, then long leash walks and finally at 4 months clearance to have access to yard with no playing with other dogs. Finally at 6 months post op she got full clearance.  We still have avoided ball chasing and jumping. Now a couple of weeks later, she started limping on her left front leg.  She with stand up from lying down, limps a step or two, and then does a great downward dog stretch and be off as though nothing is wrong.  That said it happens every time when she gets up from lying down.

I am not sure what issues can happen in the front legs, and I sure don't want either one of us to go through another surgery and rehab,  I haven't taken her to the vet yet, as it is a short couple of limps, a stretch and then normal activity.  I would appreciate andy thoughts or recommendations.  Thank you, Sheree and Zoey

I'd take her for evaluation. It may be nothing, but what if it isn't? After all the disuse, it may just be that she needs to strengthen up a bit, but ...

I think I would at least call the doctor's office that did the surgery and see if that is normal, and whether they need to take a quick look at Zoey. Good luck and I hope it is nothing to be alarmed about.

Well the strange thing is the surgery was on the rear leg and the new limp is on the front leg. I don't know if there is a ccl in the front legs too. I guess we'll have to visit the vet soon.

I realize the limping is not on the leg that had surgery, but the legs that didn't have surgery, have had to do a lot more work while the other leg was healing. This puts extra stress on them and can cause injury. This is why the second CCL very often also tears at some point.  My first response wasn't very clear.
