Hi all, I'm so distraught.  Paz had a fatty tumor on his side, that had been aspirated and was just fatty tissue.  This morning, the vet found 3 lumps on Paz, all on his left side; she aspirated them and sent them to the pathologist and I'm hoping to get the results tomorrow.  She said they must rule out lymphoma, and it could possible be a sign of infection, so she also took a complete blood panel.  She said they looked like inflammatory cells under the microscope, but she is not a pathologist, therefore would not venture a guess.  I'm just an absolute mess; I can't stop shaking.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

Hi Jane, I figure if I don't laugh, I'll cry and I'm determined that Paz is surrounded by good energy....whether it be in the form of chicken soup or porterhouse steak cooked to doggie perfection.  I will admit that Paz has figured out how to pick out his kibble from chicken soup; he literally spits the kibble out and proceeds to devour the chicken soup.  Okay, I am definitely creating my own food monster, and I'm sure I will suffer the consequences.  Paz has made a decision that Natural Balance sweet potato and chicken flavored kibble has no place on his menu, when the real thing is available.....go figure!

My mom fed our cocker spaniel liver every day ( in the 50s) I cook organic Hamburg and chicken to add to our ALD Scrabble's food and our cockapoo, Rosie's food. They still eat their kibble along with it. Not to worry! You are a great mom!

Thanks for the updates.  I think all of us who have admired the work you and Paz do are united in rooting for you both.  Hey Paz, if you get bored with chicken soup I have a great recipe for blintzes if you want it.

I read your post to Paz (I actually read all the posts to him, so he knows how much he is loved) and when Paz heard the word blintzes, he wanted to know if they were cheese blintzes?  I saw the look in Paz's eyes, which essentially said that if I was a good mother I woulld make him blintzes, or potato latkes!

I'm just seeing all this now and want you to know I too am rooting for Paz, keep giving him that chicken soup :) I will be watching for updates as he goes through his treatment. Thank goodness for insurance! Hugs to Paz and to you x

So sorry to see this. Hugs to you and Paz.

Quick Pazzie update.....I feel like you are all my morning "psychotherapists"!    My beautiful boy had a really good night and morning walk.....Paz is obsessed with the NYC squirrels who literally stand in front of him, swish their tails while munching on acorns!   I've now converted my rather small nyc apartment kitchen into "Chez Charlotte" replete with kosher chicken, chopped sirloin (prime cut, no fat), organic carrots and yams.   I've made a vat of chicken soup (kosher of course) and am letting it cool so the fat rises to the top (after all, don't want his cholesterol to go up).  Last night I decided to move my blanket/pillow to the floor, so I could sleep next to Paz's bed; well that idea didn't go over well with Paz, who acted as if I was cramping his space, and got up to sleep in my bed.....so much for that bright idea.  Well, one day at a time.  Big hugs from me and Pazzie for all your support and prayers which mean the world to us.   And yes, I have decided to abandon my idea of sleeping on the floor with Paz, because obviously, he thinks I am nuts!   I am a doodle mom, therefore, being nuts about my doodle is part of my DNA!

Lol. Always look fwd to the morning update!

Your Paz updates are great - reading how he's enjoying his walks and eating like a king makes me smile!  :)  You're so right, there's nothing we wouldn't do for our doodles...and chicken soup works wonders!  Continued hugs and prayers for you both.

LOL I spilled my morning coffee laughing when you described trying to sleep next to Paz. You are certainly keeping him distracted while he wonders about you (I'm sure he thought he got the better deal) and his new found good fortune in the kitchen. Chez Charlotte is sounding healthy and delicious. I visit a place in Colonial Williamsburg called the Dog Street Pub after its resident labradoodle :)

I think it's in the DNA --it just takes a doodle pup to bring it out. Wishing you both a happy positive Monday.

OMD! My DH and I both got a good laugh out of your bedtime story! LOL  Plus we're considering coming to your place for dinner with Paz tonight! It sounds yummy!  I love the thought of having a gene that makes you nuts about doodles! I think most of us here on DK have it too!

I agree with Ricki! When are you serving dinner to Paz? We want to come too. ;o) I am so glad Paz has you for his owner. He needs this extra care and you are giving him the best chance to thrive by being a doodle-nut like the rest of us. xo
