Sandy Hook Romp

Some of us have been discussing a Sandy Hook romp on September 15th. I haven't been to the shore in probably 2 years now. Certainly not since Sandy. Any feedback on Sandy Hook would be helpful. Come one, come all to the annual romp.
UPDATE
I plan to come between 11:30 or 12. People come and go. Of course if it's really raining it won't be on.
Bring plenty of fresh water and a bowl. Something to sit on if you wish. I may bring a sandwich or something. Lots of towels.

We can meet on North Beach. Follow signs to the parking lot and be prepared for a walk to the water.

To me. it's worth the trek too. I'll come to either place but probably won't let Finn off leash to romp with a road nearby. Finn loves to playfully chase and be chased. This game can wind up in ever widening circles.  On the off chance that he, or any other doodle could end up in the road I vote for Sandy Hook.  But we really want to meet everyone, so we'll come to have fun, whatever location everyone agrees to.

I spoke with a friend who was at Sandy Hook last week. It is open and in good shape.

How can we find out if there will be a marathon or anything else that might close parking lots or detours so we do not have to finagle meeting place at the last second. I looked but couldn't find anything.

I never thought of that. I don't know how we could check for sure.

I searched and couldn't find anything! obviously that doesn't mean anything!

Maybe we should meet in the parking lot at the Seagull (name??) restaurant and then caravan from there so we don't miss anyone.

I think people arrive at all different times, if a bunch end up coming. So that wouldn't work I think. as the time gets closer we can give people directions etc.I'm not sure the restaurant is open but the parking lot may be. I think that north beach is great. We also could share cell phone numbers privately with people so that we can be in touch, assuming there is service. Have you made calls from there? I will call the police department in early September to check on events.

Couldn't find any other events either.  At least not yet.  Do the beaches have posted names?
