Yeah, no problem. Thanks for the comments about Halas' coat. I don't know how good my tips will be, but I'll be happy to share them. I'll post something some night this week. In the meantime, you may want to check out the Grooming Group here on DK. I've learned a lot from that. The most important thing is probably to get them used to being brushed right now. They don't need it quite as much now, but it will make life easier later if they're used to it.

Barley is the same way. He is so cute about it. He will run over to us with a ball in his mouth and drop it by our feet. We love b/c it tires him out!

have you all been playing fetch with your puppies? charlie is obssesed with it! i've never had a dog who actually brings the item back over and over. if you haven't been doing it, give it a try, i bet your boys would love it too!

so glad you formed this group. i do think all the "brothers" look alike. wish we had some of the sisters. i do think they all look a lot alike and related. it will be interesting to see how much they look a like when they get bigger.charlie is doing great. he is 9 pounds now which seems like a little smaller than some of the others.

Halas was neutered just before turning 5 months old. I was going to wait a little longer, but that would have put it in February, which is a really busy month at the vet's office (dental health month). They felt that he was old enough, so we went ahead with it. There were no problems, except that he could reach his stitches with the first cone, so we had to go back and get a different one.

His hair change was so gradual that I don't really remember. I really noticed it getting a lot longer once he turned 10 or 11 months old. If you go to my page, there's a link to a website that I have. There are 2 pages of Halas pics on that website, and I think I put his age on several pictures. They really show the progression of his coat. I do remember noticing his whiskers all of a sudden. I was sitting there trying to pull one out, because I thought it was something that had attached to him during a walk. I pulled for awhile before I realized it was permanently attached.

Keep watching those eyelashes, too. Those seem to grow all of a sudden. Halas' are very long now, but I dont' remember noticing them until he was about a year old.

Halas loves to sit in laps or just sit on top of people in general. If I lay on the floor to try to do sit ups, he'll come over and sit right on top of my stomach. Friday at the dog park, a little girl sat down to pet him, and he climbed on her lap and sat down. If someone is on the couch, he will often come and sit on them, which blocks the view of the TV. But Halas figures no one would want to watch TV when they could pet him instead.

Great idea for this group. It is nice to hear how everyone is doing. Barley is now 10lbs! He is biting less, and jumping more. It has been great to watch his personality change, he is more independent, but loves to cuddle in someones lap. He also loves to be held like a baby, so weird.

Halas is from Jocque and Rubi's first litter, born September 1, 2007. I think he's the only one from his litter on DK. That's why I was so excited when you guys joined. It will be fun to hear about what your doodles do as puppies and try to remember if Halas did the same thing. One of his favorite things to do when he was little was push his tennis ball under the coffee table and then see if he could reach it.
