So I meant to post a discussion and my have emailed you all individually instead. Sorry part of the problem is I am doing this with a toddler on my lap...

So my puppy just got the last of her shots today. The vet has cleared us for next weekend to start going to the dog park. I haven't had a puppy in a while and haven't been to the dog park in a long time. I was wondering if anyone has been to the renovated dog park at Sunset Park lately and if the dogs there were friendly? I want my first experience at the park to be pleasant. Thanks in advance for you advise. :)

For your first time..honestly, I wouldn't go there..I've known there to be a few unfriendlies..plus its dirty in my opinion..wouldn't take a very young pup. Go to a smaller, or even neighborhood park instead maybe..

Only been there a few times, and there have been some pretty aggressive dogs.  Might want to go into the "small" dog pen just to get familiar with other little dogs.   Dog Fanciers Park is really big and provides more space between the animals -  Leslie and I  go to one on Arroyo Grande - I think it's called Santiago park - it's has baseball fields, but you take a nice little walk behind the fields, and down below are some fenced in dog parks -  they're gravel/dirt not grass - so they can get a little messy -  but it's not a super-busy park, just so they get used to meeting other dogs.   Have fun!

I agree, some pretty aggressive dogs and owners at Sunset.
