Tired of my doodle looking like, well, not a doodle. Looking for a good groomer on the eastside/mid-LA

I've taken Sophia to a groomer a few times, and while I like them, this is the second time in 6 months they have said she needed to be shaved. Unfortunately, I didn't go with my gut and take her away. It's the middle of winter and she's now as short as a chihuahua-not to mention they did a sloppy job at that! She has a wool coat (really tight, but soft, spirals) and is in the puppy to adult coat transition. I didn't realize that by shaving her, it's actually extending the transition since her coat now won't get striped for around 3 months when it's long enough to comb. There's more, but I won't go on and on. If anyone knows a good groomer, preferably east of Fairfax, I'd appreciate the recommendation. I'd love to have a specific groomer more than a grooming place. Sometimes they do need to get shaved and sometimes the coat could be worked with. We were really diligent about brushing and combing Ned during the coat change. We used products to get the mats to slide out and we would cut sideways through some and then combed them out.  And we had a groomer that was on board with working with the mats.  We are in Riverside and would be glad to share our groomer's name and number with you if you are up for the drive.  PS her fees are low enough to allow us to get our dogs groomed often - and that is another secret.  Go on my page and look at my doodles to see if you like what she does.

Thanks for the advice. I do realize sometimes doodles need to be shaved, and perhaps this was one of those times. She was in and out of water and snow over the holidays. It was the attitude of the business owners that was most distasteful, and their complete unwillingness to consider or even try and save areas like the feet and tail that I requested... Unfortunately Riverside is too far for me, but I'll keep looking locally. Many thanks!

Hi!  Sorry I am not good with streets but when you say east of Fairfax is that Hollywood?  I'm in the eastside too near Eagle Rock.  I use a mobile groomer called Laundromutts.  Caroline is great and is really really sweet.  You can see my two pups pictures on my page.  Bender was recently shaved down due to mats as well but she left his face all fluffy and cute.
