Ayla is our newer pup  (since feb) and gets along very well with Storm. Recently i've noticed , when she wants to relax, she'll head into the spare room (where their crates are) and sneak into Storm's crate. Well, Storm's crate is way too small for her, and almost getting too small for Storm too.  They always sleep in their own crates at night. I'm wondering why she would like to feel cramped up in there? So, I am thinking it is because of Storm's blanket that she likes, maybe. So , tonight i switched their blankets.   Do female doodles like to sleep in smaller spaces??

I feel bad, because i got Storm that black fluffy blanket, because from the beginning , he always was attracted to sleeping next to black material- maybe it reminded him of his mama or siblings. :)     Storm is always good at giving up all his toys to Ayla. He's good to her.  And never gets mad at her for being in his crate.   I had to lure her out with a bully stick earlier.

I hope to find another black blanket soon.

If it is the black blanket Ayla likes maybe you can get something similiar at a fabric/craft store.  Polar fleece is usually 60" wide and doesn't need sewn.  I have wire crates and my dogs don't like them as much if they're not covered.  It gives them a sense of security like a small space would.  Apollo used to do the same thing until I started covering his crate.  Except he tried to fitting his 85 lb body in a crate for a 25 lb dog. lol

Thanks Tina!     The breeder told me when we got her  that i should have her crate covered ( we have a huge travel -type kennel) -during the long drive home, so she would'nt be afraid.  So , at night, i still cover her crate w/ a towel, i guess it's just still a routine.
