Celebration of size

Hondo did it!  He got under 100 lbs.  He was weighed today and he is 99.8 pounds.  Last time he was at the vets he was 103 and before that he was a whopping 107 pounds.  The vet said to get some weight off him and it hasn't been real easy, but he gets plenty of exercise and Groucho Too is eating all his food, so there is no extra to "clean up".  There are a couple of new pictures on my page of Hondo before and after his summer cut.

Way to go Lynda and Hondo! Great job!! It isn't easy to lose a little over seven pounds. Was 100 lbs the goal for Hondo?
I checked out the haircut photos along with a few others on your page and your doods look wonderful! Hopefully they'll be a little cooler for the summer. I would be surprised if my Sheba ever had a weight problem but I could see Duke having a problem in the future. He is a true chow hound!

Congratulations. We also have been able to get our two overweight dogs to lose and keep it off (at least to date), and it is hard. I am going to check out your page now.

We didn't really have a goal for Hondo - just to take off a little weight. He has a special diet which includes a lot of cooking by me, so it is easier to regulate how much he eats. Both dogs have the same diet because I can't see feeding them differently. Even Groucho has lost a little weight, but that was not our plan. We actually are more aware of what we are eating also so it becomes a habit to pay more attention to what we all eat.
