It looks like our CT indoor romp is a go. Right now we have six dogs which is enough to rent the indoor dog park. My trainer will be there and she will leave her agility equipment. I'm thinking we have Kathy Brady & Tully, Cheryl with Matey and Checkers, Michelle with Cooper and Duncan, and Guinness and I. There are also a couple of other local DK members who I'll contact in case they missed the post. If we could get 10 it would be really fun. Please send some potential dates that you would be available. I'm thinking late March or early April so we don't run into any big snow storms. Either Saturday or Sunday should work....any preference on whether we do morning of afternoon?
I know I'm not the greatest poster.... busy with grad school and stuff. But, if I can make it to a romp with Napa, he would love it!
I've got spring break the week of the 21st in March. So, March 20th, and March 27th would be good for me. Most weekends are good for me, it would just depend on when my tests are, projects due, etc.
I haven't been following this. Where do you plan for the romp? Weekends are good for me and Seamus. I may also recruit a couple of foster families from DRC.

In Canton there is an indoor Dog Park at Petals and Paws which is a Pet Store/Nursery. They also have an ice cream shop where pets are welcome. Canton is just past Avon/Simsbury and not at all far from Windsor. My trainer works for Petals and Paws and she has agreed that we can host a Doodle Romp, She would be there, and the cost is extremely reasonable (around $10 - $20 per guest). Once I know exactly how many dogs she'll give a firm price, but I'm guessing it will be closer to the $10. Let me know...this could be a really fun time.
Count me in for a weekend. My only plans are vacation March 12-20th. I'll be in CT the rest of the time. Sounds like fun. I'll talk it up among my local fosters. Thanks.

Hi Everyone! I'm from Connecticut and my Bear would love to meet other Doodles! Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I want to arrange play dates for my pup, but I think it would be cool! May I join??
Any dates yet for the CT romp??? I'll spread the word to my local contact foster moms when you know. Thanks

DRC stands for Doodle Rescue Collective. We are an organization that actually was started by DK members who were interested in starting a nonprofit doodle rescue group that would have a "collective" model, therefore all the members have a stake in the organization, how it is run, etc. We have a very strong educational voice in educating folks about doodles and dog care, helping those struggling with their doodles to solve problems. And the main focus is on rescuing homeless doodles and rehoming them to excellent strong homes, where they will never see another shelter. We have a strong collaborative presence in the world of dog rescue and often collaborate with other breed specific and all breed rescue groups to save as many dogs as possible. We are always looking for more foster homes so we can save more dogs!! New England is one of the areas with the BEST applicants. I try to bring homeless dogs from other parts of the country to New England to make them more accessible to our applicants. We are always looking for volunteers to help transport or temporarily take in doodles. Luckily, the average doodle in New England is usually in foster care only for about 2 weeks until adopted. Check us out. Sorry to be so wordy, but I just love what we do!!

Oh Liz, This is so wonderful! Being a new Doodle Owner I had no idea that this was going on! Are there other ways I can help besides fostering a doodle? I have quite a small home, so I dont' know if I'd be able to have another one in my house. Let me know!
