CT Indoor Doodle Romp

It looks like our CT indoor romp is a go.  Right now we have six dogs which is enough to rent the indoor dog park.  My trainer will be there and she will leave her agility equipment.  I'm thinking we have Kathy Brady & Tully, Cheryl with Matey and Checkers, Michelle with Cooper and Duncan, and Guinness and I.  There are also a couple of other local DK members who I'll contact in case they missed the post.  If we could get 10 it would be really fun.  Please send some potential dates that you would be available.  I'm thinking late March or early April so we don't run into any big snow storms.  Either Saturday or Sunday should work....any preference on whether we do morning of afternoon?

I just wanted to follow up and see if you were planning to be at the Romp on April 10th? Will any of your fosters be able to come? I really look forward to meeting you. I so admire the work you do for DRC. I can't foster because we're in a condo and they don't allow more than two dogs, but if I can ever help in any other way, please let me know.

This is still in the works. The past week has been very busy, and I just haven't had a chance to follow up with the place where the romp will be held (Petals and Paws). They agreed, but have just not gotten back to me on the dates I sent them. We adopted our new Doodle from DRC. We went to pick up Murphy yesterday in New Jersey. So, things are very exciting (but a little crazy) right now. I will definitely give them a follow-up phone call later today to try to finalize the plans.

I finally got some dates from Petals and Paws where we're going to do the romp. They can do any Sunday afternoon in April. They couldn't fit us in for this month. It will be an hour and a half, and the cost will be $10 per dog. They will provide a "Doggie" cake. Please let me know your availability for Sundays in April, and I'll finalize the booking. Once we set a final date, I'll add a posting to the main page to be sure everyone in CT is aware. I apologize for the delay in getting this finalized....

Hi Jane! No apologies neccesary! I am hoping my son's soccer coach is going to get in contact w/me soon! The season hasn't started yet, but it should soon & games are always on Sundays! :( I have no idea if the games will be morning or afternoon! I will try & find out ASAP, but if you need to book w/out me I understand. I'll let you know as soon as I do!

Hi Jane! I got in touch w/the coach, it looks like my son's 1st game is on April 11th @ 3pm. I don't have the rest of the schedule yet but I assume his games will be afternoon games. The 1st Sunday in April is Easter. So do what is convenient for yourself & the others and hopefully I'll have more info soon & I'll let you know. Thanks!!

Hi guys! I am in NY but just a few miles from Northeastern CT--Hartford is about 1 1/2 hours and New haven/Fairfield area is 2 hours. I will have to check a map and see where Canton is. I have two doodles who love to play! If I don't have to drive too much further than 1-2 hours, I will come! The Sundayin April that I can not make it is April 18th, though, so that may leave me out.

I met with Petals and Paws yesterday, and everything is finalized. The romp will be on 4/10 from 1:30 until 3:30. There was an issue because I wanted two full hours. That's why it's now on Saturday (vs Sunday). They agreed to reschedule a training class to open up little indoor park for our event. We will be able to bring in whatever we want...food, beverages. They will have some agility equipment set out for the dogs. The trainer will be available the whole time. They will provide a Doggie cake. They said they could even set up "games" for the dogs if we wanted that. The cost is $10 per dog. It all sounds good, and I'm really excited to meet everyone and watch our Doods have a great afternoon. Please send me ideas for how to make this special. I'm going to post it on the Event board, so please respond to that so I have a count. Thanks everyone for your patience. This actually turned out to be more complicated than I thought.

Hi Jane - I just requested this day off of work! I am so excited! I'd be happy to bring food or even a cake (for people). I know I am going to bring my camera and my iflip video camera. I think it would be really cool to have a banner that is like "Connecticut loves Doodles" or something liek that! Please let me know what you think!

A banner is a great idea. I agree, we'll want lots of pictures and video. I'm going to bring some "goodies" too. I can't wait!
