So given that we are going to have a long couple of months once Chianti has surgery, I want to work on a "walk" command when she starts to run around the house now since she won't be able to run for at least 7-9 weeks post op. Is this possible for a puppy to learn? Anyone have an recommendations on how to train this? We are currently working on sit, lay down, shake, leave it, and barking corrections with the clicker...I am no expert, but I think its working. Am I nuts to try and throw in another command? I don't think we are going to be able to get her to group obedience classes until the summer.

You could just 'capture' the walk and click for each slow step...?
Charlie learned to walk on the loose leash by doing this, and rewarded with kibbles after the "Click". Evnetually, she took more and more steps before "Click" and reward.
Hi Jenna-Are you working on heeling at all? My dogs know the command "easy". I trained them in the following manner...While walking I would walk fast or jog and then slow my pace way down while giving the "easy" command, when they slow to match my pace I would treat. They both slow automatically when given the easy command. Hope this helps.
