So I've never been so confused before in my life! I am putting in a fence for Brody on our property, but I don't know if I should go with a white PVC picket fence or should I go with a Black Aluminum fence? It will be 4' high, so that's not a problem.. It's a matter of deciding! Both would look good with our home, and we do have a country theme on the inside as well as rouht-iron.. I just don't know!

I will post pics as soon as Kevin comes home with Brody from their walk..
the wrought iron spacing is small enough to keep him in and other dogs out?? No ends that he can poke himself with? Price not a factor?
Then go for it! Sounds gorgeous!
I didn't even think of other dogs getting in! But the wrought iron fence (my favorite) it spaced 4" apart. I am not sure how far apart the pvc fence is.. I think it's the same or 1/2" different...

I have a brown split level with white accents on the house (shutters, etc).. Although I think the pvc would be nice and match the house, the aluminum is less cumbersome. It will blend in with my shrubs better.
What is the maintenance on the wrought iron? I know the vinyl requires none.
I let my fingers to do the shopping and found this site - here in NJ. They have great looking vinyl fences!!!!!
Just trying to help

Okay.. If you go to that site and then hit CONTEMPORARY, I like the Victorian... If you look at the same site under aluminum, I like the Ovation...

I think they're both pretty!
To clarify, the fencing is aluminum, not wrought iron, although it has a similar look.

The aluminum and PVC are very similarly priced and maintenance free, although I'd be worried about trimming bushes or using the weed wacker and nicking the pvc finish.

There's something to be said for the whole "white picket fence".
You won't have to worry about wacking the weeds or the fence if you make a bed on either side of the fence at least 1' with mulch. Just make sure you put a rubber lawn divider (not sure what the 'scientific' name is but you can get it at Home Depot). You would just have to teach Brody that mulch is not a snack. Charli just loves to grab some mulch, look at me and start munching away. I used to attempt to stop her but she then would take off for a round of 'catch me if you can Mom'. I am not so hysterical about her munching cause what can I do? Mulch, sticks but I do cross the line at rocks. I grab her bowl of kibble, give a shake and she comes arunning - minus the wood! Mom - 1; Charli - 0

URGENT - NEVER, EVER use Chocolate Mulch - very Poisonus
LOL! I love it... Mom - 1 , Charlie - 0!

Thanks, Adrianne for the tip.
I NEVER knew of the chocolate mulch being poisonous. Is it ALL black/chocolate mulch?
Not black just CHOCOLATE!!!!!! - grapes, raisins, chocolate onions and garlic in large quanities. Not all dogs get sick by these but you won't know until they get sick. Some dogs get sick with a handful of grapes. I used to give me Beardie frozen grapes as a summer treat - she never got sick. My girls now will never taste a grape!
KEVIN AND I FINALLY AGREED ON A FENCE!!!!
It's going to be 4 ft. high, White Scalloped PVC Picket fence. We think there is something to be said about the whole 'white picket fence' idea... And it will go great Here's a pic of what we want..

Check it out in the Danger Group. It because of the same chemical in chocolate. the mulch in question is made of cocoa shells.
