Goldendoodle Puppy In Need of a Home- OHIO

MEET SWEETIE! - Adorable and lovable 10 month old f1b Goldendoodle. Sweetie will be a medium size doodle around 50-55lbs when full grown. She has a soft, fleece non-shedding coat that will require some grooming.

 As a small puppy she was adopted to a family with small children who chose to rehome her because their work schedules had increased to 12-18 hours a day , the kids were gone,  Sweetie began to stay many hours  home alone.  She was not happy in this environment.   Her former family want very much for Sweetie to be happy, run, and play with other dogs and children.

As mentioned, she is good with children  and all people,  gentle but curious with cats.  She needs help acclimating to car rides.  She does not get car sick, but rides make her anxious.  She does best with a Thundershirt or wrap and being held by a human passenger.  There she feels safe and begins to settle for the ride.  Her foster parents work daily with working with this issue.

Sweetie's foster mom reports, "Sweetie is a gentle and happy girl who loves to follow me around to see everything I am doing.   A sweetie personality , curious and not shy , she loves to play fetch and carry soft toys in her mouth.  She especially loves the soft squeaky toys.  She is happiest though playing with my doodle"

 As with all puppies, she needs to work on her manners, but she is really well-behaved for such a young pup. Sweetie will definitely benefit from training.  In just a week, she has learned many new commands and is just about ready to ring the bells to go potty.  

 

She is house trained but has never been in a crate.  When left alone, she sits on the couch and watches out the window and surprisingly is well behaved.  She has not destroyed or tried to get into anything.

 

Sweetie will be micro-chipped before leaving her foster home however, she is UTD on all vaccines and preventatives. She would be happiest in a home with another doodle to play with all day.  She is gentle and submissive and would be a great dog to add to a dog who is also looking for a playmate.  A home with a large fenced in yard, another energetic dog for company and where someone is home for at least part of the day.

Where is Sweetie located in Ohio? I completed an application a couple days ago for a dog that already found her forever home. Will my application stay on file or do I need to submit another one for Sweetie? Thanks!

Welcome to DK

Just to clarify, you applied at the rescue web address  www.doodlerescue.org

Here on DK, we are involved in rescue, however we are mostly a site with doodle members who socialize.  Just a different type of online community for doodle owners and lovers.

You must reapply ( I think) to let the rescue organization know you are now interested in Sweetie.  She is fostered up in the Akron area in North East Ohio.

Yes, that is the rescue I applied with. I was hoping to use my application I submitted Friday because it was quite lengthy. :) We are looking for a companion for our 7 year old lab. He went blind about a month ago. We feel he would benefit from a friend. I will contact the rescue to see what I need to do to apply for Sweetie. Thanks for your help.

I read on the application that they will be kept for possible future adoptions. I will let them know I am interested. :)
