Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hard to describe so bare with me.
There are many inches of snow that has become thick, hard, and crusted. As the dogs run at a full charge the paws sink quickly down about 6 inches. The running momentum sends them forward however the paws and legs remain in the hole. Can anyone say, broken legs or knee ligaments torn? How horrible for the dog. And may I add, vet bills run over $3,000 per knee. Knee problems are one of the downfalls to owning this breed. :(
Some bad news. Let me know what you think. What we can work out. Should we set another date? Next Sunday?
Can anyone in the Northern Part of Summit County go to the park to check out the conditions?
We here in North East Ohio area were planning an a get together tomorrow at Keyser Park in Cuyahoga Falls.

Great Tina,
Was the snow caving in? Those were my concerns. It was like the dogs could walk across the crispy sounding snow and then suddenly sink. When they ran they were falling and twisting.
Here is another example in New Jersey. The dog hurt his knee really bad today

Wow Tina,
You must have friends here. I see you live in Painsville. That would be a really far drive to a dog park. Do you drive to the Falls-- 2 hours often.?
WE ARE NOT GOING. Sorry folks. It is not going to warm up enough to soften the icy snow that is full of holes. We love Snow--Not ICE HOLES!
No knee is worth this. If you go be safe. If you attend next week I hope to see you there.
We thought of that too, but my dogs know the park, know that letting them in the gate and then right back out to the truck would seem so crushing. if I could see tears I know they would be there. :( wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
LOL we can't either. Too funny
HEY JULIANN, can you go check it out for us? I know you live close. The rest of us are about 30 miles away
Oh Tina,
I'm so sorry you drove all that way. I've gotten dates mixed up too. Hope you and doodle ( is his name Jack?) had a good Swensens together. Ann and Mike Kendig, when they came up to this area also ate at Swensens.
How about we get together again and ALL go out to Swensens together after the romp?
Tina, I have a dogpark ap on my phone. It says you have a dogpark up near Painsville. I would love to come up to your area also. Let me know.
Juliann--you are such a sweetheart for your plans. I am really sadden I don't get to meet all of you. I am going to try for next week. Juliann, if you would do us the honors--POST A NEW MEETING :) You did so good on the first one.
P.S. I did call Denise and Hunter and let them know. She agrees.
