Is this where I can ask for recommendations?

I'm sorry if it's not, but someone on the main forum sent me here to ask about specific breeders.. Because I have very particular wants in the dog I am looking for for my family, I am considering breeders I may not be able to visit before adopting our dog, so if I could find some people who have had an experience with them, that would be just wonderful!

Hi Julia,

I'm sorry the rules are kinda confusing.  Here's the thing.  What is prohibited is for members to write up breeder reviews (recommendations or otherwise) anywhere but in this group or privately (i.e. sending a member a private message to discuss a breeder).  So YOU are perfectly welcome to ask about X, Y, and Z breeder anywhere on this site.  The catch is you need to remind responders to respond to you privately.  So you MAY go back to the main forum and ask about the handful of breeders you are considering and you MAY ask for private feedback on those breeders.  Just be prepared to accept some friend requests from those who want to send you a private message (because you have to be 'friends' with someone to do that).

This group is solely for writing up recommendations and is moderated by the group creator so you may or may not find anything for the breeders you are looking at and that may be because nobody has yet written a recommendation or because their write-up was not approved.  There is no way to know.
