We've been wanting to check out Lucky Paws and I think our weekend is open. We've never been there before. Do they have to "pass" your dog for group play before you can come? They are up to date on all their shots and things.

Any Pittsburgh area doodles interested in meeting me at Lucky Paws sometime this weekend, Saturday perhaps? Looks like there is a handful of members near the Cranberry Twp area, and Lucky Paws is at 2273 Lovi Road  Freedom, PA 15042

Wow.  Thanks for the heads up Pamela!  I am going to call now and cancel that appointment and call the lady you recommend.  I am very grateful for your honesty.  It is hard moving to a new place and not knowing much about the area.  It seems like there is not alot of places here that use the internet much.  Austin was very tech savvy and it seems every little local place had a website and lots of information.  I haven't found that much here.  I look forward to meeting you and Trooper someday!

Diana-yes Cathi does drop offs. Pampered Pooch is right down the road from me and I would NOT recommend and know other doodle owners who left. She just wants to keep the doodles shaved b/c "you people keep buying these trendy high maintenance dogs but don't want to put any effort into maintaining"-although we were brushing him everyday (she just failed to educate me that I was using wrong tools). I'm sorry to be so negative but I am not the only one who has had this experience there! Call Cathi at My Dogs Beauty Shop 724-290-3889. they love the dogs (I never got that feeling with PP-in fact, I would have to pull Trooper in and he is NEVER like that). My Dog is probably closer to you anyway (close to the Auto AUction on Rt. 19-near the YMCA). Also, I will get you the name of my friends vet in Seven Fields. (we take Trooper to Banfield at Pet Smart but my friend really likes this other vet and is very close to you.) ALSO, I know a few others who do grooming at Lucky Paws with good reviews. We've used Lucky Ps for daycare/doggie park and some training-the staff is wonderful!

We have made our move and ended up with a home in Mars, PA.    If anyone around that area has a vet recommendation, please let me know.  I am willing to travel up to 20 miles to find the right vet for my little boy!  Also, Pamela do you know if your groomer will take a dog being dropped off at their place instead of being picked up?  My Charlie is deathly afraid of crates so him being transported by them won't work.  Any other groomers anyone else has used?  I have an appointment next wee for Charlie at a place called the Pampered Pooch in Harmony.  It seemed to get good reviews on-line and the lady seemed nice on the phone but, of course, I am nervous using a new place.  And I am checking out Lucky Paws tomorrow.  Thanks for any other advice/recommendations anyone can give.

I live 10 min north of Cranberry. Lucky Paws is a great place. I have a wonderful groomer who will pick up/drop off dogs.,,My Dogs Beauty Salon, Inc. 724-290-3889. Our vet right now is Banfield (thru PetSmart) but my friend highly recommends a vet in Seven Fields (which is on Cranberry border) but I don't have # right now. The area is a nice area!

I live in Central PA, but my parents are from the Cranberry Twp area. I bring BB to Lucky Paws whenever I come home, I highly recommend it. In the summer they have a huge dog pool, BB LOVES IT!  Let me know when you get settled and we can have a playdate some weekend when I go visit for a weekend!

It is now official that we will be moving to Pennsylvania, but to the outskirts of Pittsburgh (not Harrisburg or Philly).  Is there any doodles (and doodle moms) out there who live in the Pittsburgh area?  We will be moving to one of the northern suburbs, probably around Cranberry Township or Mars.  If anyone out there has any suggestions on groomers, vets, play groups, daycare, or just general info on the area it would be greatly appreciated!  My husband and I grew up in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh but haven't been there in almost 30 years.  And yes, we are now and always have been big Steeler fans!
