Philly Groomers?

Hello locals! Just curious to see what groomer you use, if you love them, and (if you can) would you recommend them for a fidgety doodle?

We take Cooper to Proud Pooch in Conshohocken. We love the way they groom him. Here he is after his first cut in July.

Theresa - We have tried many groomers in center city.

1. Helen Schaefer - Comes to your house, does a great job, prices reasonable. BUT she can be quite unreliable so we stopped using her (late, not showing up at all, not returning calls or emails...)
2. Doggie Style at 21st and South - We have used them only for baths which includes a brush out - a lot of work for a dog like Darwin. They were fine. Darwin doesn't seem to like them - he whines and pulls to get out of the store. I think they use a drying cage/crate which he HATES.
3. Pooch's Choice (23rd and Walnut) - I used them once for a bath. They were fine, but didn't love them and they are expensive ($65 for a bath).
4. Jaimie Ludwig (20th and Walnut) - Fabulous groomer, BUT ridiculously expensive ($155 for D!). I love my dog dearly, but just can't spend that much on a regular basis.
5. Bow Wow & Meows (24th and Brown) - Great cut, reasonable prices and just nice, patient people. Darwin always looks great. I am sticking with them.

Jennifer- Was Pooch's choice really that expensive? I've heard it called Woof Grooming too, so I'm not sure if they changed the name? I know they specialize in hand stripping & scissoring & have won grooming awards, so I thought they'd be great for a scissor cut. They're also closest to me as I'm west of the Walnut St Bridge. I've heard great things about Bow Wow's & Meows though too. Would I able to walk/cab it there?

I absolutely love Dogma in Wayne! Only 5 min off the Villanova exit off 476. They are wonderful. The staff is great. Its the only groomer Hannah has ever been relaxed going to. They are thorough and so personable. I love the "doggie facial" they do. Hannah looks great every time!
