I meant to post this here, so this may be a repeat for some of you who saw it on the main board.

I just love this dog and get this, he climbed up the girls ladder to their swingset this weekend.  He cracks me up.

 

Henry weighed in at 26 pounds for his 16 week mark.  He is still gaining like 2.5 to 3 pounds each week.  Ideally, I would love the weight x 2 and add up to 10 to be correct, but with the way he's gaining I do wonder if he's gonna be bigger then 50 to 60.  We love his handsome fella no matter what and I am think he's gonna be my big gentleman.  :D

HA  Like you said "Twins from another Mother".  LOL  They look so much alike.  I guess Trixie is a fleece type coat?  I assume that is what Henry is.

How tall is Henry?  Trixie is about 19"

 

Most of her does seem Fleece.  She has A Stripe down her back that seems wooly at the base (its also a little darker).  Especially over her rump.  It is very strange with all the textures.

I'll have to measure him.  Do you just measure from the floor to the top of his shoulder?  (where the body begins from the neck?)

 

I've read lots of people describe their doodles coats like you are saying Trixies is.  Sounds like that is kind of standard with these dogs.  Right now Henry is all one type of coat.  I know that can all change when his puppy coats blows out.  So, I guess it's another wait and see type deal.  I love the shag though.

I hope Trixie out gorows her shedding!  I dont think she will. but I am still hoping.  I do love her Shaggy fur too.

OK, I will have to try and measure him.  I guess he should be standing and not sitting, does it matter.  This should be interesting.  ha ha

 

Henry is not shedding yet, but I am just expecting him too, that way I am not disappointed.  LOL

Yes, they do need to be standing to measure them.  it helps if there are 2 people to measure.  We used a Yard Stick.   And still its hard to get an accurate measurment.

 

He might not shed if he doesnt at 4 months.  Trixie did not shed for the 1st 10 days or so.  Then She started & sheds worse then any dog I know of!  LOL

I think it's just that their new coats start growing from the top down.

 

Luna's puppy coat grew out like that when she was around 4-5 months and at 8 months she's started another weird "eel stripe" of her adult hair, which is very fleecy.

 

Here is a pic of her at 18 weeks so you can see the weirdness down the middle of her back.  That colour eventually overtook her whole upper body.

Molly has that darker strip down her back as well that is more curlier than the rest of her coat.  I think it looks interesting :)

Who knows then, maybe Henry just has not started any of his adult coat and when he does he'll start shedding.  Right now I'd say his coat is the same all over his body.
