In preparation for my new puppy, Emma, I've been doing a lot of reading and wondered if any of you new puppy owners give vitamins. My breeder recommends NuVet Plus, but one of the books written by docs at Tufts Veterinary says that as long as the puppy is getting a nutritionally sound food, vitamins are unnecessary. Also, what about feeding raw? That, too, is unnecessary, according to the author, since dogs are omnivores (like humans) and not carnivores. Any thoughts?

when they say raw, do they mean fruits veggies and rice....that's what our breeder did, she did give chicken as well too.

um we're not doing vitimans though, that's just too much for me to remember honestly. I can't even remember that for myself or my kids...in fact thanks for reminding me because we forgot again....LOL

I think if their getting a good diet then there's no need for vitamins.
Diane, thanks for asking this question. I'd been wondering the same thing. KJ and Sienna, thanks for sharing the info!
