Driving with Puppy

Has anyone driven alone with your young (8-week-old) pup yet (other than to pick him/her up)? I bought a Safety Seat Support Harness, but each time I attempt to put it on Emma, she fights so much that I wind up just holding her (obviously, I haven't yet driven alone with her). Any thoughts?

We got it at Petsmart in the car/travel section and it's made by Bamboo.
