Well, Charlie has been home for almost 24 hours.  Trish and Melissa already know this but the ride home was a tad difficult.  He was car sick for the entire hour-long drive.  The first time it happened, we were unprepared and had a huge mess.  After 20 minutes at a gas station spent cleaning, we were on our way again and Charlie made good use of a plastic Target bag.  :)

Once he was home, he just wanted to snuggle and nap.  By the time the kids came home from preschool, he was coming out of his shell.  I can't get over how incredibly sweet he is.

We've only had one accident so far -- that was this morning.  We take him out about every hour and he always pees and has pooped a couple of times.  Despite the car sickness, he has managed to eat 2 meals for us and all of the plumbing seems to be in good working order.  :)

The first night wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  We put him into his crate around 7:30pm (went to bed super early last night because I was so exhausted).  He whined for about 5 minutes, then settled and went right to sleep.  He became restless around 11:30, so I took him outside to pee.  Our cat decided to throw up around 2:30am and this woke Charlie up, so I took him out for another bathroom break.  Each time I put him back into his crate, he whined for a minute or two and settled right down.

He's currently barking at his reflection in the sliding glass door.  :)  He's been so sweet and SO loving.  My husband wasn't as into getting a dog as I was but I can tell even he is quite taken with him.

Thanks for that tidbit.  It makes me hopeful that Charlie will be a trooper soon.  He has been doing a lot better in the car recently.  Each trip he does better and better.  Last time he didn't throw up at all despite looking a little "green."  :)
