Freaking out a bit-
No clue how he did it but noticed blood on one of his toys- I open his mouth and one of his canine teeth is broken and bleeding slightly. I called the vet and the tech said not to worry, if he is eating and gum isn't swollen should be ok- but I am still nervous as all get out. :(
It's not bothering him at all from what I can tell, but absolutely is it broken- looks like it broke off from the side, and the long sharp part is all gone....
oh boy! What should I look for? What would you do?

Darwin broke one of his adult front teeth soon after he finished teething. He cracked it playing with another puppy - my guess was that he bit the metal part of the other pup's collar. I took him to the vet right away since it was bleeding a lot and he was obviously in pain, and they had to pull it. It was cracked vertically all the way to the root :((( Poor Darwin. Now he has a lovely hockey-player smile :)
If it's an adult tooth that Barkley broke, I would go to the vet. If it's a baby tooth I wouldn't worry so much, but like Lori says, maybe they will file down any sharp edges, so it still might be worth going in.
I know this was forever ago, but I think Ollie cracked his molar tooth on a nylabone a day or two ago. I looked at it and I thought it was just a loose puppy tooth, but only part of the tooth is loose and it is cracked. He didn't yelp or whine when I touched it and if I would not have looked I wouldn't know...do you think it is okay to let him just loose it like he lost his others?
